Article Withdrawal Policy

The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Communication Networks (IJAICN) follows internationally accepted standards of scholarly publishing and maintains a strong commitment to academic integrity, transparency, ethical publication practices, and preservation of the scholarly record.

The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board are solely responsible for deciding which manuscripts submitted to the journal are accepted and published. These decisions are based on the journal’s editorial policies, peer-review recommendations, and compliance with ethical and legal publishing standards, including matters related to plagiarism, copyright infringement, research misconduct, and publication ethics.

Published articles constitute part of the permanent scholarly archive, and therefore articles that have been formally published should remain accessible and unchanged whenever possible. However, in rare and exceptional circumstances, it may become necessary to withdraw, retract, remove, or replace an article in order to maintain the integrity of the academic and scientific record.

Article Withdrawal

Article withdrawal applies to accepted manuscripts or “Articles in Press” that have been accepted for publication but have not yet been formally assigned to a journal issue.

An article may be withdrawn in the following situations:

  • The article was accidentally submitted or duplicated.
  • Significant errors are identified before final publication.
  • The manuscript is found to violate publication ethics, including plagiarism, multiple submission, false authorship claims, fabricated data, or fraudulent research practices.
  • The article contains serious technical, ethical, or legal concerns identified during the final editorial review.

When an article is withdrawn:

  • The article content (PDF and HTML) will be removed from the journal platform.
  • A notice will replace the article indicating that the manuscript has been withdrawn according to the journal’s Article Withdrawal Policy.
  • The withdrawal will be recorded for transparency and archival purposes.

Article Retraction

Retraction is used when a published article is found to contain serious ethical violations or significant errors that invalidate the research findings or conclusions.

Reasons for article retraction may include:

  • Plagiarism or substantial similarity with previously published work
  • Duplicate or multiple publication of the same research
  • Fraudulent, fabricated, or manipulated data
  • False authorship or contributorship claims
  • Serious methodological or research errors that invalidate conclusions
  • Ethical violations in research, experimentation, or publication practices

In case of retraction:

  • A Retraction Notice titled “Retraction: [Article Title]” will be published in a subsequent issue of the journal.
  • The notice may be issued by the authors, the Editor, or the Editorial Board.
  • The original article will remain accessible in the journal archive for preservation of the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as “Retracted” on every page of the PDF.
  • The electronic version of the article will contain a clear link to the retraction notice explaining the reasons for the retraction.

Article Removal (Legal Reasons)

In extremely rare cases, an article may need to be completely removed from the journal’s online database due to legal or regulatory considerations.

Article removal may occur if:

  • The article contains defamatory, unlawful, or offensive content
  • The article infringes legal rights or copyright
  • The article becomes subject to a court order or legal directive
  • The content may pose serious public health, safety, or security risks if relied upon or implemented

In such cases:

  • The article text will be removed from the journal database.
  • The article title, authorship details, and metadata will remain visible for the integrity of the publication record.
  • A notice will be displayed stating that the article has been removed due to legal reasons.

 Article Replacement

In cases where a published article contains critical errors that could potentially lead to serious academic, scientific, or technical consequences, the authors may request replacement of the flawed article with a corrected version.

In such cases:

  • The original article will be retracted according to the journal’s retraction procedures.
  • A corrected and revised version of the article may be republished after editorial approval and peer-review evaluation if required.
  • A clear link will be provided between the original article and the corrected version to maintain transparency and continuity in the scholarly record.

Preservation of the Scholarly Record

The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Communication Networks (IJAICN) is committed to preserving the integrity, transparency, and reliability of scholarly communication. Even in cases of withdrawal, retraction, removal, or replacement, the journal maintains clear notices and records to ensure transparency for readers, researchers, and indexing systems.

All decisions related to article withdrawal, retraction, removal, or replacement are made carefully by the Editorial Board in accordance with internationally recognized publishing standards, ethical principles, and academic best practices.
